LAKKI MARWAT - National Research and Development Foundation core committee’s member Mufti Ihsanullah has called upon the clerics to take practical and active part in the campaigns against polio so as to save the children under the age of five from lifelong paralyse.
He was speaking at a meeting here on Sunday. The meeting was attended among others by NRDF field coordinator Shahid Anwar and district khateeb Maulana Abdul Wahab.
The participants also held Qurankhani on the occasion for the departed soul of MPA late Ziad Durrani, the son of former chief minister Muhammad Akram Durrani. They also expressed their sympathies with the bereaved family.
Mufti Ihsanullah told the meeting that the health department had succeeded to instill the usefulness of oral polio vaccine into the minds of people especially reluctant parents due to hectic efforts religious scholars.
“The efforts on part of Nrdf also enabled the district health department and other stakeholders to cover refusal cases and remove misconceptions from the minds of people about anti-polio drops”, he maintained. He said that ulema would make all out efforts to wipe out the crippling disease from the district completely.
