Missing persons case

PESHAWAR - Peshawar High Court (PHC) Tuesday issued show cause notice to Additional Chief Secretary FATA, asking him to appear before the court in next two-week in the missing persons case.
A two-member bench of PHC headed by Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel and Justice Manzoor Hussain heard the cases of about 86 missing persons. Additional Advocate General Waqar Ahmad, who appeared before the bench submitted a confidential report to the court.
After examining the report, the CJ appreciated the report. He, however, said there is no information about the crime for which these people were put in interment centres.
The court was told that 130 persons had been put in the interment centres while six of them were handed over to Bakkar police and four Afghan nationals were handed to the political administration of Khyber Agency.
He told the bench that at present a total of five interment centres existed in the province. On this occasion, additional chief secretary did not appear before the court to apprise the bench about the missing persons.
The court ordered the additional chief secretary Federally Administered Tribal Areas to appear in the court on next hearing.
