Sheikh Rashid asks Imran Khan to join grand alliance

LAHORE-Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid on Wednesday claimed that opposition was moving towards striking a grand alliance against the Nawaz Sharif government.

Flanked by Chaudhry brothers in Lahore today, Rashid said that he was persuading PTI chief Imran Khan to join the opposition’s alliance.

“We are an ally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). It is our desire to unite all opposition parties on a single platform,” he stated.

Commenting on Model Town incident, he said that one-judge commission was formed to waste the time so the culprits can be saved.

“Removal of Rana Sanaullah is not enough as the whole nation is demanding the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Shabaz Sharif.”

Speaking on this occasion, PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said that opposition could unite on one common point. “We are in contact with all opposition parties,” he added.
Former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervail Elahi said 1600 workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) have been booked under terror charges.
