Efforts underway to rehabilitate IDPs: Governor


PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Shaukatullah has said that hectic and solid steps are underway to ensure early rehabilitation of Internally Dislocated Persons (IDPs) of Fata. He said that he would personally ensure that not a single affected family was deprived of the financial assistance being offered by the government in this respect. 
He said the affected families of Momand and Bajaur agencies also bear no exception in this respect.
Addressing delegations of elders, ulama and youth hailing from different areas of Momand and Bajaur agencies which called on him at the Governor House, Peshawar on Sunday, he pointed out that special initiatives were underway to expedite pace of disbursement of the compensation amount among the affected people. 
Responding to various points raised by the delegates, the governor further said that indeed maintenance of peace and normalcy was must not only for making the rehabilitation process result-oriented but also ensure their well being. 
He also urged the tribal elders to continue their support to further consolidate the ongoing efforts for strengthening peace and normalcy.
Talking on a point regarding further streamlining the working of the sector of animal husbandry in certain areas of Momand and Bajaur agencies, the Governor asked the authorities concerned to provide him detail briefing in this respect. 
Referring to various points raised by students, the governor said that the government was making sincere efforts to further improve the quality of education in Fata.
 The Governor said that proposal to enhance the amount of merit scholarships was already under the consideration of government.
