RAJANPUR - Adviser to Punjab Chief Minister Sher Ali Khan Gorchani and his father Pervez Iqbal Khan Gorchani claimed to have been given a free hand by Shahbaz Sharif for forging electoral alliance with any suitable political group in constituencies NA-174 PP-247 and 248.
Following the green signal from the party high command, the Gorchani Group has decided to start decisive meeting with Leghari and Dareshak groups.
According to details, Leghari Group (PML-Q) was likely to join the PML-N but due to the opposition from Khosa group the idead could not be materialised which created a sort of political ‘chaos’ in Rajanpur politics.
It is to be noted that in the general election 2008, Leghari-Gorchani alliance won NA-174 and PP-247 seats.
In this connection Sher Ali Khan Gorchani and his father Pervez Iqbal Khan Gorchani had a long sitting with the Punjab CM wherein they gave him a detail account of NA-174 and PP-247.
Both the father and son sought permission for make alliance with Muhammad Jaffar Khan Leghari of Leghari Group or Nasarullah Dareshak of Dareshak Group at local level to achieve favourable results.
During the meeting Shahbaz Sharif told them that Jampur was a bastion of the PML-N and that the sacrifice rendered by Gorchanis could not be neglected.
The Gorchanis claimed that Shahbaz Sharif assured them that any decision regarding of inclusion of any family or group in the PML-N in district Rajanpur would be made by taking the Gorchanis on board.
Moreover, Sher Ali Khan Gorchani and his father claimed to have been given a free hand by Shahbaz to negotiate electoral alliance with Leghari and Dreshak group in the district.
Hence the CM Adviser has started negotiation with heads of both the groups.
According to sources next week a new alliance is expected to come into being in Rajanpur district.
