Imran asks CJP to take notice of rigging

ISLAMABAD -PTI Chairman Imran Khan has said that a well-organised rigging was carried out in the general elections.
Addressing a large gathering of workers and supporters of his party through video link, Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Imran Khan urged his followers to stand tall against the alleged rigging in polls and asked the chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of the ‘results manipulation’ in polls.
“I am grateful to all of you for participating in demonstration. Please stand tall against the injustice. I request Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of rigging during recently held polls and investigate the matter,” Imran said while addressing his party workers who gathered at D Chowk in Islamabad, through video link from his home.
As many as 5,000 party workers, majority of whom came from other cities including Mianwali, Bhakkar, Sargodha and Khoshab under supervision of PTI’s MNAs and MPAs, gathered in the heart of Islamabad on Friday and staged a demonstration against alleged rigging in the general election and Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) ‘indifference’ to the complaints in this regard.
As compared to last couple of demonstrations that the PTI held at the same venue, Friday’s demonstration was too small and could not attract citizens of twin cities. Weaving party flags in hands and wearing official caps of PTI, supporters and workers raised slogans like “We Want Justice”. Of those who addressed the demonstrators included PTI vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry, and others.
Speaking to the protesters, Qureshi said it was the neat and clean personality of Imran Khan that enabled PTI to secure victory in general elections. “After recount of votes in certain constituencies, if PTI’s charges about rigging are proven, these protests will be justified otherwise the party will accept the mandate,” Qureshi said. He made it loud and clear that the PTI had emerged as the second largest political party in terms of vote despite all ‘hurdles’ created in its way during the election.
The leaders and workers of PTI expressed their motives via different slogans. Of which interesting slogans include: ‘Recount to win our trust’, ‘We do not accept rigged election’ and ‘We want free & fair election’.
