Karachi: Sindh High Court today ordered immediate action against those, involved in manhandling of journalists outside the high court premises.
The bench, during hearing of the contempt of court petition filed by former provincial home minister Zulfiqar Mirza, expressed indignation over manhandling of newsmen by the masked hooligans, outside the court on previous hearing of the case. The court suspended SSP South Captain Asad, till the next hearing of the case.
I.G. Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamali and Karachi Police Chief AIG Ghulam Qadir Thebo appeared before the court today. “Were you asleep when the hoodlums committed that attack outside the Sindh High Court?” Justice Sajjad Ali Shah asked AIG Thebo. Who had ordered that attack, the judge further asked?
The court directed the Chief Secretary, I.G. Sindh and Home Secretary to submit written affidavits, apart of immediate action against the accused involved in the incident.
The court later adjourned the hearing till May 26.
