HAFIZABAD - `Two citizens of Karachi drowned in the Kot Nakkah Branch near Mustafabad, Pindi Bhattian here on Sunday.
Their bodies could not be recovered despite frantic efforts till filing of the report. According to rescuers, Imran and Kashif along with their friends of Sher Shah Colony Karachi visited Fatehki village to attend an Urs of a saint. They were on the bank of Kot Nakkah Canal near Mustafabad when both of them slipped into the canal and drowned. Their friends and rescuers-tried hard to trace their bodies but they failed to recover them.
Another young boy, Nadeem of Yaseen of Nadala Khaam, was on way to his village on a bike when he reached near Batairy village on Alipur Road, two armed bandits intercepted him but he accelerated his speed of the bike. Meanwhile, the accused opened firing on him. As a result, he was seriously injured and removed to a hospital.
TWO HELD FOR TORTURING WOMAN: DPO Rana Shahzad Akbar got arrested through Gojra Sadar police constable Naveed and Wapda employee Izzat Baig for attacking accused Izzat Baig’s wife Rashida and her cousin Zulfiqar in chak 160 GB.
Sources said Rashida was residing with her father Siddiq after creation of a dispute between her and her husband.
 When she was going to Gojra for shopping on motorcycle with her cousin Zulfiqar, accused Izzat Baig, his accomplice Naveed and several others attacked them.
They took shelter in their relatives’ house but the accused tortured the family members of Rashida and Zulfiqar. When application was received by DPO against accused cop and Izzat Baig, the DPO found them guilty and the police arrested them.
