Hundreds of visiting Sikh Yatrees stressed a need for ensuring peace in the Subcontinent for regional development and prosperity.
They said that Pakistan is a peace-loving country and the people also intend to see durable peace globally. Talking to the newsmen, the Sikh Yatrees from London-UK, Australia, Canada, Germany, India and Norway including Sardar Parbeet Singh, Parkhas Kumar,  Sukhbir Singh, Boota Singh, Narindar Kumar, Reena Kapur,  Dil Jeet Kaur, Sawarn Kuar, Badal Singh, Ritti Kaur, Maninder Singh, Shaam Singh, Uttar Singh and Labha Singh said that the world community must come forward and use its complete influence for peace in Subcontinent.
They added that both the nuclear neighbours - Pakistan and India - should immediately restart peace talks in the larger interest of the people of Pakistan and India.
They demanded their visa-free entry into Pakistan for visiting and performing their spiritual and religious rites at different sacred places in Pakistan. They also thanked the government of Pakistan for protecting their sacred places, especially Gurdawaras in Pakistan. They said that Sikh Community was ready to play its role in establishing durable peace in the region.
Later, they also visited their native houses in surrounding areas of Sialkot amid tight security to refresh their pre-partition memories. They met with their old friends and their children and distributed sweets and exchanged gifts.
