Senior leader of PPP Naheed Khan has said that at least one year is needed to assess the policies of Nawaz government.
Talking to journalists here on Thursday, she added that the people gave clear mandate to Mian Nawaz Sharif and now it was the turn of rulers to deliver. She said that every citizen was worried because of growing terrorism, loadshedding and price hike. She said that Bhutto created awareness in deprived sections of society and gave jobs to the youth while now the situation was rather opposite. She suggested to the government to focus on improving economy. She regretted that price hike eliminated middle class besides creating a clear division between the rich and the poor. She asked the government to recover tax from the privileged class, landlords and the rich. She said that every Pakistani would have to play his role for the resolution of problems being faced by a common citizen. She said that all political and religious parties would have to play their role for putting the country on path to peace and prosperity.
Referring to the situation of terrorism in Pakistan, she suggested to the government to hold dialogue with Taliban for uprooting this menace from the country. She said that different groups of Taliban, who were being funded by foreign powers, operated in Pakistan and the government should give the task of holding a successful dialogue to the intelligence agencies.
Answering a question on Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, she said that he should get guidance from the speeches of his maternal grandfather and mother for becoming a national level leader.
“May he become a good leader,” she prayed.
