LAHORE- Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, president PPP Punjab has said the excessive load shedding of electricity has broken the back of the industry and the agriculture sector alike of the country.
He said this in a statement issued today. The agriculture sector was doubly hit because load shedding of electricity after every hour drastically impaired the tube wells to pump out the water in sufficient quantity to meet irrigation requirements of the farmers besides electricity being so expensive, he added.
He called upon the government to ensure three hours uninterrupted supply of electricity to farmers and industry that would suffice irrigation requirements of the farmers to a large extent and also of the industrial sector. It is a matter of better management of the limited supply of electricity, he added.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo also lamented the government for doing nothing in increasing the generation capacity of electricity in the country adding their hallow claims of controlling load shedding in months had exploded in their face as after the lapse of one and half year nothing had been done in this regard.
