Rawalpindi - A meeting was held on Friday at Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to review the progress of Metro Bus Service (MBS) project. The meeting was chaired by Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, ex-MNA of PML-N and Capt (Retd) Zahid Saeed, commissioner Rawalpindi Division, and Director General (DG) RDA. PML-N MNA Tahira Aurangzeb, former MNA Muhammad Shakeel Awan, former MPA Zia Ullah Shah, chief engineer RDA, project manager NESPAK and other relevant officers and contractors of the project attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Packages-I and III Rawalpindi and package IV and V Islamabad were discussed threadbare. Views were exchanged on how to execute ongoing work on fast track basis.
The delay because of sit-ins in Islamabad was also discussed. However, the project managers of packages I and III Rawalpindi and package IV Islamabad assured that they would complete the work by 25th December 2014. As far as, work on package V Islamabad was concerned a separate meeting would be held shortly to work out the strategy before completion of work along with other packages.
