Tharparkar: Famine kills 22 more children

Tharparkar-  After the death of one more child in the Mithi Hospital, the death toll of children has risen to 22 in the last 21 days in the famine-hit Tharparkar.
More than 431 babies have died over the past eight months in Thar, which is facing drought conditions. Despite many promises made by the federal and provincial governments, the people of the area have got nothing and their condition has worsened with each passing day. Sindh’s Chief Minister. Qaim Ali Shah, has taken notice of recent deaths in the area and is expected to visit drought-hit areas later today. The desert region of Tharparkar is one of Pakistan's poorest districts, spreading over nearly 20,000 square kilometres and is home to some 1.3 million people.
