PML-N candidates finalized for Chakwal LG polls

Chakwal: Most of the candidates belonging to ruling PML-N in 71 Union Councils (UC) and 6 Municipal Committees wards of Chakwal districts, have been finalized by the local leadership of the party for the upcoming local government (LG) elections in the province.

As per details, the members of assembly from Tehsil chakwal, Choa Saidan Shah have settled their candidates amicably when the four members-committee constituted by Hamza Shahbaz Sharif had a meeting with the parliamentarians of Chakwal district.

There was a dispute at union council Chak Umra and Ballo Kasar between MNA Maj. Tahir Iqbal and MPA Ch. Liaqat Ali Khan, however the candidates at PP-20 have settled. The dispute between provincial minister Malik Tanveer Aslam and MNA Maj ® Tahir Iqbal was also settled amicably. However UCs Dandot and the wards of municipals committees Choa Saidan Shah remained unsettled.

There were some serious differences between adviser to CM Punjab Malik Saleem Iqbal and MNA Sardar Mumtaz Tamman who was also supported by MPA Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan.

Only 10% seats have been settled between them and nobody was in position to withdraw its stands. The committee directed both the parties to settle their matters before 27th September otherwise committee would announce the candidates on 28th September and the tickets would be awarded to all PML-N candidates.
