PTI wins 2 out of 6 Attock cantt LB seats

ATTOCK - Independents and PTI candidates remained dominant as out of total six general member seats of cantonment board two were won by PTI and two by independent candidates during the local bodies elections held here on Saturday.
According to Chief Executive Officer Arfeen Chaudhry in Attock Cantt, ward-I, Shahnawaz Malik (Ind) has been declared successful with 1412 votes while his opponent Taimoor Aslam of PTI bagged 574 votes.
In the ward II, Ghulam Khan Bangash (Ind) candidate has been declared successful as he has bagged 2496 votes while his opponent Zahoor Ahmed (PTI) could bag 428 votes. In this ward total registered voters were 5835.
As per Returning Officer Naeem Ahmad in Sanjwal Cantt ward I, Rehmatullah Niazi (PTI) has been declared successful who bagged 813 votes while Muhammad Aftab (PML-N) bagged 767 votes and remained runner-up. In this ward registered voters are 3474. Similarly, in Sanjwal cantt ward II, Ashiq Hussain (PML-N) has been declared successful who bagged 405 votes while Khawaja Asif Zahoor (PML-Q) bagged 238 votes. In this ward registered voters are 1480.  As per Returning Officer Irfan, in Kamra Cantt ward I, Arif Mehmood (PLM-N) has been declared successful who bagged 919 votes while his opponent Akmal Shafiq PTI bagged 773 votes.
In this ward registered voters are 11984. In Kamra Cantt ward II, Farukh Sayyer (PTI) has been declared successful by a close margin who bagged 656 votes while his opponent Rana Nisar (PML-N) bagged 651 votes. Here PTI candidate won the seat by a close margin. In this ward, the registered voters are 8186.
It is worth mentioning here that in Kamra Cantt more than 9,000 registered voters had boycotted the election process as they are unwilling to remain in the jurisdiction of Kamra Cantt.
