Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s four C-130 airplanes today flew for Nepal carrying aid for earthquake victims in the country, where over 1,900 people have been killed in a devastating earthquake.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a 30-bed hospital, medical staffs, food items and rescue teams have been dispatched from Pakistan.
“To provide relief to earthquake victims in Nepal, 4 C-130 aircrafts with 30 bedded hospital, army doctors, special search and rescue teams, food items have left for Nepal,” D.G. ISPR, Major General Asim Salim Bajwa, said on Twitter.
“Urban search and rescue team of Pak Army equipped with ground penetrating radars, concrete cutters, sniffing dogs and equipment sent to help rescue teams,” Bajwa tweeted.
Yesterday, magnitude 7.9 earthquake jolted Nepal and others Asian countries, including India, Bangladesh and Pakistan, leaving behind trail of destruction. International aid groups and governments escalated efforts to dispatch rescuers and supplies to earthquake-hit Nepal, as the death toll reached 1,900.
