More than 12 patients of the 17 poisonous milk affectees have been discharged from District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) while the condition of the rest is also stated to be stable. It is to be noted that at least 40 people including the bride and groom fell unconscious after consuming poisonous milk during the henna ceremony of Muhammad Iqbal’s daughter in village 114/SB in the remit of Atta Shaheed Police the other night.
Meanwhile, a private TV channel claimed that Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and sought a report from the authorities concerned within 24 hours.
On the other hand, the groom Iqbal while talking to media said that their opponents tried to kill all his family members by mixing toxic substance in the milk. Meanwhile, police have collected samples of poisonous milk and sent to laboratory for analysis.
