Militants kill driver, conductor of Nato oil tanker

KHYBER AGENCY  - Driver of a NATO supply oil tanker was shot dead along with his conductor and a nearby shopkeeper also sustained bullet injuries, when unknown militants opened firing at the tanker here in Wazir Dand area of Tehsil Jamrud, Khyber Agency on Monday.
An official of Jamrud administration said an oil tanker (810-TLJ) was en-rout to Torkham border from Peshawar to deliver allied force consignment somewhere in Afghanistan when they were intercepted by undisclosed militants.
“The incident took place in Wazir Dand area of Jamrud, some half-kilometer way off from Peshawar,” sources said. They said that the two transporters, including a driver and conductor were killed on the spot while a shopkeeper was wounded.
“The deceased were identified as driver Inayatullah son of Ajab Gul, resident of Khyber Agency, conductor Fazalur Rehman son of Khan, resident of Lakki Marwat while a shopkeeper Sadiqullah son of Sher Khan, an Afghan national was wounded,” he confirmed.
They said that security forces and local administration officials instantly reached the scene, cordoned off the area and shifted the bodies and injured to Jamrud hospital for medico-legal formalities. A massive search operation has been launched in the area and so far 18 suspected persons have been arrested in this regard.
