Police seize free textbooks from godown
 
 
 

LAKKI MARWAT - Police seized a huge quantity of free textbooks from a godown in Lakki city on Monday. "On information a police party headed by ASI Javed Khan raided a godown in Michenkhel locality and recovered free textbooks labelled with 'Not for Sale' from the place," said a police official. He said the cops also arrested a man identified as Waheed who had purchased the books.
He said the dumps of textbooks seized were for the students of grade one to grade five.  Official added that involvement of education department officials and teachers in the practice could not be ruled out, saying that police will expand the sphere of investigation on revelations made by the arrested man.
He said that investigation was started after registration of case under relevant section of law in Lakki Marwat Police Station. He reiterated that big fishes if found involved in the practice of selling free textbooks would be spared at all.
