Two govt officials arrested over embezzlement

PESHAWAR - National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has arrested two government officials over alleged accumulation of wealth and embezzlement, says a press release.
Accused Pervez Khan Executive Engineer XEN (BPS - 18) Pak Public Works Department presently posted as Director Technical on deputation basis in Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation was arrested yesterday.
He is allegedly involved in accumulating assets beyond known sources of income.
An inquiry was authorized to ascertain the real facts and collect requisite evidence regarding moveable and immoveable properties owned, controlled and possessed by the accused in his name and in the name of his dependents.
During Inquiry it was revealed that the accused during his service in PWD and on deputation in C&W Department has accumulated huge assets beyond known sources of his income.
The assets included 272 kanal land in Tehsil Tangi, District Charsadda, 4.4 kanal land in Tehsil Tangi, District Charsadda, 1 kanal plot at Rehara, 10 marla plot at Mojohan, Plot 35, block A, PWD Society, Rawaat, plot at Sector G-13/1 North Avenue, ECHS, and Palatial House at Sector G-13/1, and Plot 34, Sector G-13/2, in Islamabad.
Besides, 10 marla house at Barrian district Abbottabad, a house at Sector J-1 Phase 2, and house no 156 A, Professors Colony, house no 46 sector G-4 phase-2, Hayatabad Peshawar.

Additionally, the accused owns expensive marble mines in Mohmand Agency and huge unexplained transaction in the bank accounts.
The accused will be produced before the accountability court for obtaining his physical remand into NAB custody.

Meanwhile, NAB also arrested Shah Wazir Khan, the then Tehsildar Chitral presently working as Judicial Tehsildar District Swat.
He is allegedly involved in embezzlement of 76 million rupees by depriving the genuine concessionists of their due right of forest royalty district Chitral in connivance with others.
On the complaint of poor concessionists of locality from Chitral, NAB KP initiated inquiry.
As per policy of forest department /Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Forest Royalty shall be distributed among the concessionists of locality equally through joint forest Management committee.
The accused Shah Wazir Khan supported Noor Shahideen (private person) to make a fake joint forest management committee (JFMC) and made him chairman of the committee through the active connivance of other accused persons.
The accused persons later on diverted and embezzled an amount of Rs 76 million through complex banking transactions and pocketed the same.
NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has already arrested Gulzar-ur-Rehman, the then divisional forest officer Chitral, Prince Khalid Pervez, Member District Council Chitral, Noor Shahideen, Rehmat Karim, Malak Shaye in the instant case.
The accountability court Peshawar has granted their 14 days physical remand into NAB custody.
