LAKKI MARWAT - Two internally displaced persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency were killed allegedly by their rivals here in Naurang town on Thursday.
Police said Malik Momeed Khan and his sons Khalid Khan and Tariq Khan were ambushed by their rivals near Naurang town when they were going to Nar Hakim Khan village to meet their relatives. They said that Khalid Khan and Tariq Khan died instantly while their father Momeed Khan sustained bullet injuries.
“The victim family had a dispute over the ownership of a mountain in their tribal region with the killers,” police said.
The bodies and the injured were shifted to a local hospital in Naurang town. The killers escaped the place while police registered a case against Gul Wali, Syed Akbar, Amir Khan, Gulap Khan and Rasool Khan, the residents of North Waziristan Agency on the complaint of Malik Momeed Khan.
Meanwhile, two women were killed and two male members of their family were seriously wounded in a collision between motorcars on Indus Highway Bypass near Titterkhel Thursday.
According to eyewitnesses and officials, both the cars were badly damaged in the accident.
They said a woman died on the spot while another wounded woman later succumbed to her injuries.
However, due to the absence of doctors, the bodies and wounded men were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital Tajazai.
When contacted DHQ hospital’s Medical Superintendent Dr Abdul Rehman said the bodies of two females and two wounded men had been brought to the hospital. He said the injured had been admitted and their condition was critical.
