Unknown militants attacked a police station with rockets followed by heavy firing here in Bannu on Sunday but no loss of life was reported.
According to officials, unidentified miscreants fired three rockets on Ghouriwala Police Station in Bannu and opened fire with automated weapons.
A portion of the police station building was partially damaged in the rockets attack and heavy firing but the cops and officials remained unhurt.
The police retaliated the attack appropriately forcing the attackers to flee.
The police cordoned off the area after the incident and launched search operation but no arrest could be made.
The rockets attack at police station created scare among the local people. They were of the view that when security forces were not safe from the militants attacks then who would guarantee security of their lives and property.
