Civil Services Academy officers visit IUB

Bahawalpur - A delegation of the under training officers of the Civil Services Academy Lahore visited the Islamia University Bahawalpur and held a meeting with faculty of Islamic Learning Dean Dr Saleem Tariq Khan and faculty of Pharmacy Dean Dr Mehmood Ahmed here the other day.
The delegation was informed that the university was established in 1,905 as a Madarssa, Jamia Islamia and with the passage of time its earned the status of a chartered university in 1975 as IUB where currently around 18,000 students are under study in 80 disciplines with 600 teaching staff.
The visiting delegation also went rounded Sir Sadiq Library of the university and main auditorium. The members of the delegation appreciated the ongoing academic/research and administrative set-up of the university.
IBU appoints new heads of departments: IUB/GSCWU Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar has expressed hope that newly posted heads of academic departments of the university will perform according to best of their abilities to keep intact traditional practice.
He remarked at a ceremony held to announce the new heads of some academic departments of the IUB. Dr Mukhtar appreciated the cooperation of the faculty members which enabled to improve the ranking and academic standards of the university.
The newly appointed heads of department are, Dr Razia Mussarat (Political Science), Dr Faizul Hassan Nasim (Chemistry), Dr Muhammad Ashraf (Bio-Chemistry), Dr Mian Mushtaq Ahmed (Urdu & Iqbaliyat), Dr Iftikhar Ahmed (Islamiyat) and Irshad Ahmed Rashid (Pakistan Studies) while Dr Saeed Ahmed has been designated as the Principal, University College of Conventional Medicines IUB.
