MARDAN - Unidentified persons gunned down an office-bearer of the ruling Awami National Party (ANP) in Garhi Kapura, district Mardan, on Wednesday.Police said that the dead body of the ANP worker was dumped in a room in the fields. Anwar Sheed, resident of Koat Ismialzai, reported to police that his father Khurshed after completing work in his fields came and laid in a room to take rest, adding that meanwhile unidentified persons killed him. He said that he and his family had no enmity with anyone. Police registered case against unknown accused and started investigations. The deceased was a ‘Khuda-e-Khidmatgar’ and devoted worker of the ruling Awami National Party (ANP). He remained on different posts in the party. Later on his funeral prayer was offered in his village at 9:00 am. He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Gahri Kapura. His Qul will be held in Koat Ismailzai tomorrow (Friday). Relatives, well-wishers, journalists and government officials, Awami National Party (ANP) office-bearers and workers attended the last rituals of the deceased.
