ISLAMABAD - Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali yesterday directed the Sindh chief secretary, the inspector general of police and the Rangers director general to ensure early recovery of Barrister Owais Ali Shah son of Sindh High Court Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah.
The chief justice held separate meetings with the Sindh chief secretary, home secretary, IGP, Rangers DG and other police officers of operation and investigation wings at the Supreme Court Karachi Registry.
All the officers briefed the chief justice of Pakistan on the kidnapping of Barrister Owais Ali Shah and the measures so far taken by the Sindh government for the recovery of the abducted son of Sajjad Ali Shah.
Showing serious concern over the issue, the chief justice directed them to take effective and concerted measures to ensure the recovery of the son of the Sindh High Court chief justice. He said the incident had sent a wrong message to the general public besides causing disappointment and sense of insecurity amongst the judges and their families.
He directed the chief secretary to employ all resources to ensure improvement in the law and order situation of Sindh, in general, and Karachi, in particular.
RABBANI EXPRESSES SOLIDARITY WITH CJ SHC
Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani yesterday met Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court Sajjad Ali Shah in his chamber in Karachi.
Expressing solidarity with the CJ SHC and his family, the Chairman Senate urged the security apparatus and law enforcing agencies of both the federal and provincial governments to make effective coordination and take every possible step for recovery of CJ SHC’s son who was abducted last Monday. He conveyed well wishes and assured every possible cooperation and support to ensure early release of his son.
