Because of fire eruption and other technical fault at Guddu Thermal Power Plant, parts of various cities of Sindh and Punjab provinces including Rahim Yar Khan plunged into darkness.
Experts opined that owning to transfer of additional load of Uch Power Plant Dera Murad Jamali, Balochistan, which went nonfunctional earlier, the technical fault occurred in the Thermal Power Plant. Thus, the electricity supply to a many cities and villages of provinces Sindh and Punjab including Rahim Yar Khan was suspended.
Because of the fire eruption in the Unit 4 of the Gaddu Thermal Power Plant, the generator and the power plant were damaged. Till the filing of this report, the fire had been extinguished but the power supply remained suspended and the engineers were busy fixing the fault. On the other side, the people are facing a great ordeal due to scorching heat and electricity suspension.
A TV report says: According to KESCO sources, power supply to Jafferabad and Nasirabad among various other areas remained halted as a technical fault occurred in Dera Murad Jamali grid station.
Later, as soon as two units of Guddu thermal tripped, twelve more units also got off after which power supply to various areas of Sindh and Balochistan were suspended, it adds.
It is pertinent to mention here that Guddu Power Thermal also tripped on Thursday night due to which power supply to various areas was halted.
3 SHOs shuffled, 1 suspended: District Police Officer Sohail Habib has transferred and posted three station house officers in district Rahim Yar Khan, besides suspending one SHO and asking him to report to the police lines.
The district police officer transferred Ahmadpur Police Station SHO Manzoor Ahmad and posted him at Liaqatpur while Sub Inspector Asad Khan was posted as SHO of Ahmadpur police station. Howerver, Liaqatpur SHO Azhar Iqbal was posted at Airport police station in place of Inspector Ghulam Mohayyudding who has been suspended.
Newly posted judge welcomed: Newly posted civil judge has pledged to strengthen relations between the bench and the bar by utilising his all-out capabilities, urging the lawyers of Sadiqabad to cooperate with him for the provision of justice for the people.
“The provision of justice for the people in tehsil Sadiqabad is my mission,” said Civil Judge First Grade Muhammad Irfan addressing a luncheon organised by the Tehsil Bar Association in his honour.
On the occasion, additional and sessions judges M Aslam, Malik Ali Raza, civil judges Rehan Sabteen, Muhammad Imran, Sardar Sahib Gul, Ishaq Javed, Riaz Ahmad, Bar President Abdul Khaliq and other office-bearers and a number of other lawyers were also present. Earlier, the newly posted civil judge was presented a bouquet. The luncheon ceremony was inaugurated with recitation of some Quranic verses by Nazir Ahmad Advocate while Naat was presented by Muhammad Hanif.
