Assassins of Sheikh Mansoor Ahmed arrested

ISLAMABAD- Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police has arrested two persons including a woman involved in murder of senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP), a police spokesman said.

According to details, Farhan Sheikh son of Aman Ullah Sheikh submitted an application with Kohsar police station stating that his uncle Sheikh Mansoor Ahmed, Secretary General PPPP Human Rights Cell, was residing at House #15-A, Street 44, Sector F-7/1 Islamabad. He said that he was shifted to PIMS hospital after murder attempt on him by Awais Ahmed son of Abdul Khaliq along with his accomplices on January 28, 2014 which resulted critical injuries to him following his death.
Kohsar police registered the case under section 302/34 PPC and investigation of this case was marked to CIA staff. SSP Islamabad Muhammad Ali Nekokara, after assuming charge, asked SP Investigation Jameel Ahmed Hashmi to accelerate efforts to trace the culprits. Special team working under his supervision including Inspector Muhammad Siddiq and Sub-Inspector Hebat Ullah worked hard and succeeded to arrest Awais Ahmed resident of Mansehra and a female hailing from Rawalpindi.
During the preliminary investigation, they confessed to torture Sheikh Mansoor which resulted his death later. IGP Islamabad Aftab Cheema has appreciated this performance of CIA police team and further directed all police officials to ensure speedy investigation of various crime cases through hard work.
