Govt striving to rejuvenate sick entities

State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad has said that the govt has been making all out efforts to turn PIA, Railways and Pakistan Steel into profit-earning entities and for the purpose concrete steps are being taken.
He was addressing a gathering here at People's Colony (Gujjar Street). On the occasion Sheikh Salman Sarwar, Muhammad Bashir Chaudhry, Sheikh Mehmood Elahi, Ghulam Samdani and Saifur Rehman were also present.
Sheikh Aftab said that the PML-N leadership did not believe in blame game and struggling for prosperity and progress of the country at all costs. He said that the first and foremost priority was to overcome electricity loadshedding and ensure timely completion of different power generating projects being launched in the country. He informed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was going to lay the foundation stone of a 6000 MW coal power project in Gaddani while upraising of Tarbela Dam was being started. He said that this project would be completed by 2017 and would enhance the power generating capacity of the dam by 1280 MW. Sh Aftab claimed that the government envisioned Pakistan of 2015 when people would have all facilities. The state minister argued that the presently the country was grappling with a multitude of problems and the government was striving to tackle them wisely.
While talking about PTI sit-in to block Nato supply, the state minister pointed out that it was the PTI stance and not of KPK government. About PM Nawaz's statement regarding visa free travel between Pakistan and India, the minister said that certainly if materialised would be better for both the countries. "We want peace with India as conflicts are not beneficial for both the countries," he added. Sh Aftab said that due to prevailing tension both the countries had been spending a huge amount of money on defence instead of public welfare and durable peace in the region would help both the countries divert this huge amount towards development and welfare of people.
Regarding development projects in Attock, the state minister said that upgraded electricity transformers were being installed while gas facility was also being provided to different localities. He said that work on sewage system in People Colony (Nai Abadi) would be started soon while gas to Bismilah Colony would also be provided soon.
