RAC features Lubna’s ceramic art pieces

Rawalpindi - An exhibition of ceramics art by renowned artist Lubna Malik opened on Tuesday at the art gallery of Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on Tuesday.
Pride of Performance Award winner artist Aftab Ahmed Khan accompanied by Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed and former RD Naheed Manzoor inaugurated the exhibition.
More than 80 art pieces of different colour schemes and styles have been showcased at the art gallery.
The most important aspect of the exhibition was the calligraphy where the names of Allah are written with ceramics.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Aftab Ahmed Khan said that Lubna Malik had unique position in ceramics art.
He said that writing names of Allah with white clay was a unique technique which was not possible for everyone.
Naheed Manzoor said that uniqueness appeared in the works of Malik, as white clay mixed with different colours had been baked in furnace with expertise.
Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed welcomed Malik for conducting her first exhibition at RAC. He said that the RAC was property of artists where they were provided an opportunity to display their artwork.
Lubna Malik belongs to Sargodha and she got education in ceramics art from National College of Arts, Lahore. She had conducted three solo exhibitions while participated in 11 group shows all over the country. Malik is also teaching ceramics art at Shakir Ali Museum, Lahore, where she is imparting her art to the young generation for preservation of Ceramics art.
The exhibition of ceramics art would remain open till 1st December.
