PESHAWAR - Leaders of Pakhtunkhwa Olassi Tehrik in a grand jirga has asked the federal government to give up step motherly attitude with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and ensure payment of arrears of net hydal profit worth 500 billion rupees. The jirga also urged the PML-N government to announce a handsome compensation package for terrorism-affected families and reconstruct the damaged educational infrastructure. The jirga was held under the auspices of Pakhtunkhwa Olassi Tehrik here on Saturday.
Patron-in-Chief of Pakhtunkhwa Olassi Tehrik Dr Said Alam Mehsood, National Party Leader Mukhtiar Bacha, Organizer from Buner Shams Buneri, Organiser from Karachi Ameer Hamza Marwat, Organiser for Islamabad Aimal Khattak, Organiser for Sawabi Liaqat Yousafzai, Tribal leader Engineer Torgul and others were present.
Addressing on the occasion, Dr Said Alam Mehsood said that Pakhtunkhwa Olassi Tehrik would be the first ever non- political organisation of Pakhtuns which is struggling for political rights of Pakhtuns without any political affiliation.
He mentioned that in the past several movements have been launched but these were failed owing to political interference and conspiracies of hidden elements but this time they have make a strategy to kick out those elements who had misused this platform.
He said that Pakhtuns will no more tolerate great games on their soil and they have enough political awareness as they know about the elements involved in hatching conspiracies.
He said that those who put guns on the shoulder of Pakhtuns have been identified and this movement will uncover those elements who want bloodshed of Pakhtuns in the war of others. Addressing on the occasion, Organiser Pakhtunkhwa Olassi Tehrik for Buner Shams Buneri urged Pakhtuns to unite for their cause as without unity they could not achieve their goal.
“We are no more in the position to see bloodletting of our brothers, sisters and daughters and those who have started this game are the actual enemy of Pakhtuns,” he disclosed, adding that there is no halt to military operation against innocent people in FATA.
Tribal leader Engineer Torgul said that all these operations have been launched to defame the brave and peaceful tribal people.
Organiser for Karachi Ameer Hamza Marwat said that he started his struggle for Pakhtuns unity fifty years ago but all the time he was deceived by the so-called nationalists. He said that they were in search of such platform which works for the rights of Pakhtuns in true sense and at last he found this platform.
He said that he sold out all his property in this struggle to create political awareness among Pakhtuns but unfortunately a few sincere people were found in the shape of Dr Said Alam Mehsood.
Organiser for Islamabad Aimal Khattak asked the federal government to review its foreign policy and promote friendly relations with neighbouring countries. He also demanded of the government to establish a department in each provincial capital to supervise the royalty of natural resources and its fair distribution.
Later on, the participants of the jirga along with leaders of Pakhtunkhwa Olassi Tehrik staged a peace walk in front of the Neshtar Hall. The peace walk was led by Dr Said Alam Mehsood, Mukhtar Bacha and large number of tribal elders from FATA.
