PESHAWAR - Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Provincial President Azam Swati cancelled the basic membership of PTI MPA Javed Naseem after failing to submit a reply to a show cause notice issued by his the party leadership.
Javed Naseem who was elected from PK-3 staged a protest on October 5 outside the Peshawar Press Club against the PTI leadership and issued statements against them. This had prompted the PTI leadership to issue him a show cause notice to explain why he had breached the party policy.
In a press release issued on Saturday, PTI said that as per the directives and approval of party’s provincial President Azam Swati, Naseem’s basic party membership was terminated. “A letter of cancellation of party membership is served on him and a copy of the same is sent to the Secretary Provincial Assembly Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the Election Commission of Pakistan for necessary action.
Javed Naseem has had a history of differences with the PTI leaders, especially Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. He was elected from Peshawar city in May 2013 general elections.
The differences widened, when Naseem even headed a forward block of PTI MPA’s in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa assembly. He had been attending recent sessions of the assembly with a black band on his mouth.
