RAWALPINDI - Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh, managing director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM), has said the government is taking all possible steps to provide relief to the poor. The PBM is launching a number of welfare schemes for destitute segments of the society, he expressed these views while addressing a reception hosted by PML-N Lawyers Forum here on Saturday. On the occasion, PML-N MPA Raja Muhammad Hanif Advocate and the other lawyers including Khaliq Hussain Bhatti, Raja Hameed, Ahmed Raza Qadri and Nadim Bhatti were present.Sheikh said that the government was committed to serve the people. He said that PBM wanted to see the people prosperous and financial support was being given to the poor without any discrimination. "PBM's objective is to serve and help the poor," he said, adding that many mega projects had been started in the past to provide support to the families and inflated-hit people. He appealed to philanthropists and the rich to support the orphans and play their role in fighting illiteracy and making Pakistan a prosperous country.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
