Private schools defy LHC fee orders

KHANEWAL: In defiance of the Lahore High Court (LHC) orders, all the private schools here have asked the parents and guardians of students to pay two-month summer vacation fee in advance.
The act speaks volumes about inefficiency on the part of the authorities concerned in checking the illegal practice.

Summer vocation are scheduled for starting from the first week of June. The administrations of all the private school have started hidden campaign through their students to recover two-month advance fees for summer vocation.

The parents have demanded prompt action against the school owners.

When contacted, the heads of several educational institutions denied the allegation. According to the principals and other admin staff of the private schools, some elements work to defame the name of their institutions and achieve their vested interests. When they were told that the complainants showed the fee cards of their children as evidence, they refused to accept these cards as correct. However, they asked parents to approach them in person in their offices and they would check the matter and refund the amount of two-month fee, if found correct. The parents also demanded decrease in the school fees.–Staff Reporter
