Non-bailable arrest warrants of former PM issued

Karachi: Anti Corruption Court (ACC) has issued non-bailable arrest warrants of former Prime Minister (PM) Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani and former commerce minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim in Trade Development Authority Pakistan (TDAP) corruption case.

Multi million dollars TDAP scam came up for hearing before ATC led by judge Muhammad Azim Thursday. Investigation officer FIA Ali Akram Zardari presented challans of 12 new cases against the accused persons in the court.

Ali Akram Zardari told the court over 70 cases were already registered against Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, secretary Muhammad Zubair and others in TDAP scam. Challans of 12 cases against Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, Makhdoom Amin Fahim have already been filed in the court but both these accused have got bail from the court to avert their arrest.

Investigation officer further told the court that challans of another 12 cases have been presented. The court had directed the accused personels to appear before it, however They did not appear. Therefore, arrest warrants of the accused to be issued, he prayed.

Judge Muhammad Azim of ACC while accepting the challan of 12 new cases issued the arrest warrants of Yusuf Raza Gillani, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, secretary Muhammad Zubair and others. He ordered the accused personels to be presented in the court on next hearing at all costs.
