Three SHOs among 9 cops suspended for torturing Chinese Engrs working on CPEC

MULTAN: The investigation committee suspended three Station House Officers (SHOs) among nine policemen for alleged involvement in torturing Chinese engineers engaged in development work of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

A two-member committee headed by Additional Inspector General (AIG) K.B. Awan was constituted after recorded the statements of the Chinese engineers who were subjected to torture by police in Multan.

The investigation committee has declared CPO Multan, Azhar Ikram responsible for the occurrence.

Over the findings of the committee, three SHOs among nine policemen have been suspended and further investigation is in progress.
