KARACHI - Six including two women were killed in separate incidents of target killing and violence in different parts of the metropolis here on Monday.
As per detail, in the first incident caretaker of seminary Ziaul Uloom was shot dead in Banaras Colony in the limits of Pirabad Police. The incident took place at Banaras Colony No-2 near Mohammadi Mosque.
The victim 68-year-old Khalid Iqbal, son of Mohammad Rasool was on his way to home from the seminary after offering Fajr prayer when unidentified armed culprits opened indiscriminate firing at him, killing him on the spot. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. SHO Pervez Gujjar said the victim hailed from Swat and cited the victim’s family as saying that the deceased had some dispute in Swat. The police have probing to ascertain whether it was personal enmity or sectarian killing. No case was registered till filing of this report. In another incident, the police found the bullet-riddled body of an elderly woman from bushes in Ali Mohammad Village in the remit of Gulshan-e-Maymar Police. Identity of victim could not be ascertained yet while the police shifted the body to morgue for identification after autopsy.
DSP Mukhtiar Khaskheli said the victim appeared to be Baloch speaking as she dressed in traditional Balochi dress. No case was registered till filing the report. Separately, the police found a butchered body wrapped in a gunny bag from Kakri Ground in the limits of Kharadar Police. The identity of victim is yet to be ascertained. Police official said the victim had received one bullet in his head and had also been slaughtered. The victim wearing green Shalwar Kameez was killed by unidentified culprits and threw his body. The police said they did not found anything that could help ascertain his identity.
Police registered case against unidentified accused. Separately, in another incident, police found the beheaded body of a woman from bushes near water filter plant in the Steel Town Police precincts. The identity of victim is yet to be ascertained while police found her body from bushes near water filter plant in phase-II Gulshan Hadeed.
Police official said the body was lying without head and clothes in bushes and unidentified culprits after brutal murder had thrown the body. They did not found the head of woman. Police said victim appeared to be 28 to 30 year-old. The body was shifted to JPMC for post-mortem and later moved to morgue for identification. Meanwhile, a fisherman was shot dead by his cousins in Macchar Colony in the jurisdiction of Docks Police. The victim 35-year-old Ibrahim alias Badshah, son of Zomba Khan.
was the resident of Muree area Macchar Colony. He was sitting in front of his house when his two cousins namely Shaukat and Liaquat, after exchange of hot words, opened firing at him, killing him on the spot. After committing the crime both escaped from the scene. Police said the victim was a fisherman and work in fisheries and he had some family dispute with their cousins, adding that two days ago they had a scuffle with each other and area people dispersed them. No case was registered till filing the report.
Meanwhile, a young man was shot dead while another injured in Jumma Goth in the Al-Falah Police precincts. The incident took place in Jumma Goth Malir where area people held a Jirga due to area problems, during Jirga some people went to arguments and during quarrel Munawar alias Munno and Shafiq pulled out pistols and opened firing. Resultantly 24-year-old Ayaz, son of Moosa died on the spot, while 22-year-old Zeeshan alias Shani, son of Sabir received bullet injuries. The body and injured were shifted to JPMC for medical treatment and legal formalities.
