Pakistan observes Benazir Bhutto's 7th death anniversary

Larkana- The 7th death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto was observed countrywide on Saturday.
Quran Khawani was held at the district level across the country for the departed soul. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader was murdered on 27th of December, 2007 by terrorists in Rawalpindi while she was returning from a public meeting during 2008 general elections campaign. PPP observed major event of the death anniversary in Garhi Khuda Baksh. Co-Chairman PPP Asif Ali Zardari, Benazir’s widower, visited the grave of the slain leader along with their daughter Bakhtawar Zardari on Friday.
A documentary, depicting life and achievements of Benazir Bhutto was also shown on the occasion. A Mushaira was also held today afternoon.
In a message on the 7th anniversary, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said the nation today seemed more united than ever before in its determination to exterminate the militants.
He said that it was abundantly clear that the sole agenda of these barbarians is to take over the state and install what they call caliphate dismantling all democratic structures.
“Their agenda is the same as that of Daesh in Iraq and Syria, Al –Shabbab in Kenya and Boko Haram in Nigeria,” he said.
“PPP wishes to state categorically that they will not be allowed to succeed in their designs,” the PPP chairman added.
