ISLAMABAD - Four more parliamentarians showed up Tuesday for the verification of their academic credentials and the Higher Education Commission cleared their degrees.
So far the degrees of 39 MPs have been declared as genuine by the Commission who contacted HEC for clearance after the Election Commission of Pakistan sent letters to parliamentarians asking them to get their academic certificates attested otherwise their degrees would be declared fake.
Member of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq of PML-N also got his degree attested. Now 210 MPs have been left who have to get clearance from HEC. A special parliamentary committee will also meet the Chief Election Commission on the issue on Thursday. Chairman HEC Dr Javaid Laghari will also accompany the parliamentarians.
