Islamabad- In view of the protest by religious activists, strict security measures were taken, during the hearing of Mumtaz Qadri in the murder case of former governor Punjab, Salman Taseer.
The road to High court was blocked with barricades and police and special force personnel were deployed at buildings in the surrounding areas. Five police officials and two FC constabulary were deployed in the premises of the court along with 25 Rangers officials.
Hundreds of Sunni Tehreek and Shabab-e-Milli Tehreek were present outside the court and chanted slogans in favors of Mumtaz Qadri. Chairman Sunni Tehreek Dr. Zafar Iqbal Jalali was leading the rally. DSP Idrees Rathor and Assistant Commissioner Madam Nisha reviewed security measures at the occasion. Several police officials were reportedly found taking pictures of protestors.
