MARDAN - On the order of Additional Session Judge (ASJ) Takhatbahi, the local police have registered a case against a Station House Officer (SHO) and Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) on charges of keeping a person in illegal custody.Mohammad Alam, resident of Jalala, submitted an application with the court of ASJ Takhatbhai Mohammad Shoaib Khan. He stated in his application that on July 3, his brother along with his son Waseem and other person Abid were going to Shergarh and on way near Shah Zaman Qilla at 4:30am, SHO Shergarh Police Station Khadimeen Khan and ASI Mushtaq Khan stopped them and then taken to the police station. He said that later on he reached the police station to release his brother but police denied his release. The complainant said that he submitted an application in the court to present his brother before it but when he along with the court bailiff reached the police station they were not allowed to enter police stations’ premises. He said that later on police shifted his brother to Sheikh Maltoon Town (SMT) Police Station. He denied involvement of his brother in any suspicious activity. He requested the court to register a case against the police officer. Sources said that on the directive of court, Shergarh police registered an FIR against the above-mentioned police officer.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
