MQM holds protest in front of White House

WASHINGTON - Dozens of MQM supporters on Saturday staged a demonstration in front of the White House to protest the ongoing military operation in Karachi, with the party activists calling on the  the US government to intervene and stop what they called was “genocide” of Mohajir community.
Led by the members of Central Committee of MQM America, Chapter In-charge Faisal Usman, and attended by Chapter Committee members, MQM supporters, chanted slogans in favour Altaf Hussain, and establishment of a ‘Mohajir Province’ and equal rights for Mohajirs.
On Sunday, a similar rally was held in front of the United Nations, led by leaders of party’s New York chapter.
Speakers on the occasion said that the protest has been organised to attract the attention of American people and other world communities  “towards the miserable conditions of Mohajir community due to the state sponsored atrocities.”
They appealed to the US President Barack Obama, members of American Senate and Congress to use their good offices to pressurise Pakistan govt to stop the ongoing operation against Mohajirs in Karachi. 
They said that MQM will not make compromises over the rights of Mohajirs. 
Later, the protesters prayed for the health of party leader Altaf Hussain, for the souls of those who lost their lives during the struggle for Mohajir cause and for the better future of Mohajir community.
