ISLAMABAD- The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today accepted the Federal Investigation Agency’s request for provision of details of Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s assets.

The government has tasked FIA with investigating the assets of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Qadri who arrived in Pakistan on Monday to kick off his campaign against Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) led government.

According to our sources, the FIA has formally written a letter to ECP to get details of Qadri’s assets in Pakistan, besides PAT’s constitution, documents of party registration and copies of his nomination form.

Today, ECP officials said commission has accepted FIA’s application, saying detail of Dr. Qadri’s assets is a public document. They said a summary in this regard has been dispatched to Chief Election Commissioner.
