First Ramadan likely on June 30: Chief Meteorologist

ISLAMABAD- Chief Meteorologist Mohammad Riaz has said that the holy month of Ramadan was expected to start on June 30, 2014.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee also known as the moon sighting committee will sit Saturday evening in Karachi for the sighting of the moon. The meeting will be presided by the committee's chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.
Talking to a private TV channel, Mohammad Riaz said it is less likely that the moon would be sighted on Saturday. According to meteorological department, there are limited chances that the moon will be sighted in the coastal areas of Balochistan however the chances for moon sighting are bleak due to the bad weather.
