LONDON/KARACHI- Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) head Altaf Hussain announced that his party would stage a massive rally in Karachi to
express complete solidarity with armed forces.
Speaking to members of party’s coordination committees, Hussain said Pakistan’s armed forces were engaged in a tough battle against terrorists in North Waziristan.
“Our officers and jawans are courageously fighting the terrorists and sacrificing their lives,” he said. He paid tribute to the fallen soldiers and officers of the army and directed MQM workers to make arrangements for the rally in support of the military. Hussain lauded the troops for their high morale despite rendering huge sacrifices in war against terrorism.
Hussain also appealed to the citizens of Karachi, religious scholars, traders, industrialists, shopkeepers and students to take some time out of
their routine activities to express solidarity with the army. He said that time and venue of the MQM rally would soon be announced.
