Rangers on high alert, get special powers

Islamabad- The Government of Pakistan has given police powers to Rangers in Islamabad, Rangers personnel will now be able to search out homes under the Anti-Terrorism Act, without warrant.
According to details, Rangers were given police powers in the federal capital, under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Sources told that Rangers personnel will now be able to raid houses and arrest suspected people. The Interior Ministry has also directed concerned authorities to put the security on high-alert all over the country.
The Federal Government while directing local authorities to insure the security of sensitive places, has sought suggestions from provinces in this regard. It was further reported that after the finalization of recommendations by provinces, military will also be assisting civil administration for the maintenance of security of sensitive installs.
