BAHAWALPUR - Pakistan Day was celebrated at Bahawalpur Garrison with fervour and enthusiasm.
Like other parts of the country, the day dawned with special prayers for country’s prosperity and success.
The day is observed to remember March 23, 1940 when the historic Pakistan Resolution was adopted in Lahore, which led to the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of sub-continent.
Later, a colourful riding gala was arranged for families.
Tent pegging, show jumping, traditional camel dance, ludi and exhibition of riding skills by riders of different ages were the eye-catching events of the occasion.
While speaking at concluding ceremony, Corps Commander Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat appreciated the organisers for arranging such an eventful ceremony to celebrate Pakistan Day and distributed prizes amongst the participants.
