Pakistan Electric Power Company has stated the total shortfall of electricity in country is 6,000 megawatts.
A spokesman of PEPCO said in Lahore on Sunday the total power generation is ten thousand eight hundred fourteen megawatts‚ while the total demand is sixteen thousand eight hundred fourteen megawatts.
Meanwhile, masses suffering from extended announced and unannounced power loadshedding during merciless summer heat staged protest demonstrations in many cities of the country including Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Peshawar and Sanghar.
The power shortfall in the country has reached 6,000 megawatts and as much as 20 hours of load shedding in cities and 22 hours loadshedding in rural areas are going on across the country.
Agitated, angry, sleepless and workless masses in Faisalabad came out on the streets in Faisalabad. They pelted stones on the vehicles resulting in the blocking of the Jhang Road.
There were demonstrations in Sahiwal as well.
In Peshawar stick carrying protestors staged a demonstration in front of the power grid station and chanted slogans against the PESCO.
