WAGAH - At least 151 Indian prisoners were handed over to Indian Border Security Force at the Wagah Border on Monday.
These prisoners were released from Malir Jail of Karachi on Sunday, where they were detained for violating the Pakistani waters. These fishermen were released as a goodwill gesture on the orders of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who is in New Delhi to attend oath-taking ceremony of newly-elected PM Narendra Modi.
PM’s visit to improve Pak-India ties: Basit
Online adds: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit to India would help improve the relations, besides resolving the long-standing issues. He said the prime minister’s vision for peace and development in the region would resolve the differences between the two sides.
Talking to the state-run television, he said all the matters or issues should be resolved through dialogue.
“The prime minister’s visit will bring prosperity for the people of this region,” he stated.
