Swat- At least 16 people were killed and seven others injured when their truck careened off into Swat River today.
According to police sources, the truck slid off into the river because the road was damaged by floods.
The deceased include ten children and five women. According to hospital sources, some of the injured are in critical state and may be transported to Saidu Sharif Hospital.
The passengers of the truck were members of three families who were en route from Punjab to Utror—one of the beautiful valleys in District Swat. Police said the rescue and relief operation is in progress but the number of casualties might increase.
