PESHAWAR: Provincial Finance Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Muzafar Syed convened Revenue department s pre-budget consultation meeting which was attended by secretaries of relevant departments and representatives of civil society on Thursday.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Finance Ali Raza Bhutta said that development budget would not be reduced and there are chances that 80 to 85 percent of the budget will be utilised, rather than the imposition of taxes, the government has been trying to increase income, he added.
Muzafar Syed said that federal government did not fulfill the promises and it should pay attention to KP the same way it does to Punjab.
He said that despite floods, earthquakes and terrorism, KP can produce its own resources but that would require federal government’s approval.
In the meeting of pre-budget meeting, it was stated in the upcoming fiscal budget 39% of the budget would be allocated for incomes, 24% for development and 30% would be placed for non-development projects while remaining 30% would be spent through local governments.
